John Lennon (9 de octubre de 1940 - 8 de diciembre de 1980)

"Mi rol en la sociedad, o la de cualquier artista o poeta, es intentar expresar lo que sentimos todos. No decir a la gente cómo sentirse. No como un predicador, no como un líder, sino como un reflejo de todos nosotros."

Siempre quise saber cómo se sentía vivir en la época de los Beatles, en la época de John. De hecho, la curiosidad hacía que preguntara a mis viejos lo que significaba para ellos esta música. Sinceramente, me hubiera gustado formar parte de aquellas décadas, o por lo menos haber nacido en un mundo donde todos los Beatles, aunque separados, estuvieran vivos. Por suerte, puedo decir que tuve la oportunidad de vivir contemporáneamente a George, y que aún lo hago con Paul y con Ringo. Pero jamás lo haré con John.

Creo no equivocarme cuando sostengo que Chapman no se gano sólo el odio de los de su generación, sino también el de todas las generaciones posteriores a la muerte de John Lennon.

Nunca vamos a perdonarle que nos haya arrancado la posibilidad de escuchar todo lo que este genio aún tenía para dar. Nunca.
